SUMMARY Schedule and route all activity trips and daily bus routes. Communicate with parents and schools regarding
routes and activity trips.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Daily        25%            Schedule coverage drivers and activity trips.

Daily        20%            Communicate with parents and schools regarding student stops, in English and Spanish.

Daily        15%            Determine, evaluate, and make changes to routes and bus stops.

Daily        10%            Communicate with staff via two-way radio.

Daily        10%            Activity trip completion, invoice, and billing.

Weekly     10%           Log and file fuel cost/consumption, mileage sheets, and student counts.

Weekly       4%           Perform bus driver duties.

Annually     5%           Determine bus routes for school year with transportation supervisor.

Ongoing     1%           Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE School bus operation, strong background in computer information systems and administrative duties.
Experience working in a fast paced environment requiring efficient problem solving, short timelines, and often urgent
situations. Prior experience as a dispatcher is a plus but not required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Basic math, writing, communication, and accounting skills. Basic
knowledge of two-way radio operation. Advanced personal computer operation. Ability to instruct, operate various types
of buses, operate handicap equipment and work with young children. Ability to speak and translate Spanish preferred at
hire.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS DOT physical and CDL B license with P2-S endorsement to be
acquired within 6 weeks after hire.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY Directly supervises bus drivers and paras. Spends 51% - 75% of
time conducting supervisory responsibilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing
complaints and resolving problems; and training employees.

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING Work is assigned by Transportation Manager. This position requires
application of position knowledge to efficiently route buses for school functions and follow transportation department
guidelines. Work is guided by Adams School District 14 policies and procedures. Decision making requires
collaboration with Transportation Manager, Dispatch Foreman, drivers, emergency personnel and co-workers. Supervisor
is involved only in major decisions.

SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS Low exposure to self and to others to chemical burns, disease, hernia and loss of
sight due to traffic accident. Medium exposure to self and others to bruises, cuts, heat burns, fractured bones, loss of limb,
disfigurement and fatality due to traffic accident. High exposure to self to repetitive motions or stress due to typing,
steering and sitting.

must frequently lift and/or move up to 10, 25, 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving
mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; vibration. The employee is occasionally
exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work
environment is usually loud when driving bus.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to compare,
analyze, communicate, and evaluate. Frequently required to copy, coordinate, instruct, compile and negotiate.
Occasionally required to compute and synthesize.

SALARY: Range 12 of the Classified Salary Schedule. Adams County School District 14 is a direct deposit employer.
All new employees must be fingerprinted per H.B. 90-1077 at a cost of $40.00 to the employee.
